Yes, all our training and experience has been in this exact climatic zone. 

Plant Hardiness Zones are determined by numerous factors such as frost-free days, snow depth & wind (to name a few).  Due to climate change and improvement in climate measuring techniques Natural Resources Canada has remapped these zones. Red Deer and majority of surrounding area who have previously been mapped as Zone 3a or 3b have been adjusted. Red Deer has been remapped from a Plant Hardiness Zone 3b to 4a.

As Plant Hardiness Zones are a generalization one must still keep in mind the microclimates that exists in one’s yard.
